The Reasons for Low Transfer Rate in The Process of Sublimation Printing

Transfer rate is an important indicator to measure the success of the printed products.Low transfer rate not only waste the sublimation ink, but also reduce the quality of products. But, what will lead to the low transfer rate?

1.The sublimation paper

The quality of sublimation paper usually influence the transfer rate directly. Paper with high quality always have higher transfer rate .Besides, the coating of sublimation paper, and the dust on the paper will also influence the transfer rate .

2.The sublimation ink

Sublimation ink with different quality will have different effects. And people should choose right ink and match it up with sublimation paper, then the transfer rate will be increased.

3.The fabric

Different fabric should use different sublimation paper. For example, if you use ordinary sublimation paper to print the 100% cotton t-shirt, the transfer rate will not be high, and the fiber of the fabric may also be destroyed .

4.The temperature 

  Sublimation transfer printing has particular demand for temperature. If the temperature can’t meet the requirement, the transfer rate would be influenced.

5.The printers

There are many kinds of printers, such as Epson, Mimaki, Roland …They have different effects. For example,Mimaki V33 is better than Roland 740K.

Why the sublimation paper crimping in process of printing ?

   In the process of sublimation printing,the paper are often crimped.As the result ,the paper will always rub the print head and shorten it's life.Besides,paper crimping will also influence it's cutting.

   Sublimation paper crimping can't be solved completely by far，but we can find it's reasons and avoid it.

   1.The humidity of the paper is too high

   Under normal conditions,we should keep humidity between 40%-60% .The higher  the humidity is,the easier the paper crimp.

   2.Air drying  

   When the air is dry,the humidity of paper is low,then the paper is not easy to crimp.

   3.Digital image color is too deep

   The paper's humidity will be high if the digital image color is deep,and the paper will be crimped easily.

   4.No coating at the back of paper

   Coating at the back of paper is an useful method to protect the paper，and it can help the sublimation paper becomes more stiff.

   5.The width of the paper

   The wider the paper is,the easier to crimp.

     It's easy to find that the storage of sublimation paper is very important to avoid  paper crimping .So,we should pay attention to it's storage conditions below：

    1）Waterproof

    2)  Fire prevention 

    3)  avoid light

    4)  Pay attention to seal when not in use.
